Volunteers Wanted
Join the San Diego Crew Classic Volunteer Team!
In 2011, the San Diego Crew Classic celebrates 38 years of premier rowing competition on Mission Bay. Each year has been better than the last, but this event could not move forward without the valued assistance of our many volunteers. To execute a successful regatta, we will need several hundred volunteers to cover a week of course installation, hospitality, merchandise sales, race operations and cleanup.
Whether you are new to the sport of rowing, are a former rower, or are a passionate spectator of the sport, this is your chance to get involved and have fun.
Job Descriptions are below

We’re in need of volunteers who are available before, during and after the 2011 regatta. We encourage everyone with an interest in the sport to sign up. You must be 13 years old the day of the event to apply for a volunteer role. You’ll need a valid e-mail address and access to the Internet to register.
Our venue is on Crown Point Shores, along Mission Bay. We anticipate cool cloudy mornings and warm sunny afternoons, but April can instead be rainy with temperatures in the 50s. Dress in layers, and remember a jacket, sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen. Docks may become slippery so wear appropriate footwear.
There are many areas of the regatta that need your help. Some of these positions require little or no experience while some require specific Crew Classic experience. Please let us know your background and specify your shift preference on the Sign Up page on RegattaCentral. Check out our list of job descriptions and select all those that are of interest to you.
Your experience as a Crew Classic volunteer is extremely important to us. That’s why all volunteers are provided with the training necessary to perform their roles. There will be an orientation that you will need to attend prior to the regatta. The session will cover: event details, information about the venue including park rules, check-in times, parking, meals, and breaks. You will also receive a nametag, a parking pass, a T-shirt to wear the day you volunteer, and food vouchers to purchase a meal during your shift.
On the day of the event, please report to the Volunteer Tent at the regatta. There you will sign attendance sheets and an insurance waiver. Specific job training will be provided upon arrival at your assigned location. If you need documentation of community service hours, please speak with the Volunteer Coordinator.
